Stuff for 2017 Acadia

My (I’m the husband) 2017 Acadia SLE-2 has a few problems. I really love that SUV. Sometimes it almost triggers my wife’s jealousy.

Driver’s seat needs a switch. It has 8-way powered movement but moving straight front or back has failed. From research we know that it’s the switch. Besides, when we first got it, sometimes it would move those directions if we wiggled it enough. Switch for the power driver’s seat. This one is very cheap. Not too hard to replace so it’s OK to go cheap on this part. This unit fits many other GM products as well, so I guess these switches fail often enough.

Next, the USB sockets that connect the Carplay to the radio are really sloppy. There are several to choose from, but we will just grab the cheapest one. Be warned that there is an almost identical version for the back seat USB port, but it is only for charging and doesn’t transmit data. It doesn’t take much work to change either unit out. Front seat USB socket for Carplay. BTW, I found out in researching this that I can go into a setting on my phone while connected to the Carplay and remove or add Icons that show up. That would be nice, because now that I run Spark and Doordash, it would be nice for the apps to show on the screen instead of having to open them on my phone. We will see how that works.

Also transmission fluid. It will take about nine quarts. Probably slightly less than nine.
First, drain as much out as will come out. Measure that and put the same amount back in.
Start it, run it through the gears for a few seconds, then drive for 10 minutes or so using the gears to warm the new fluid and get it well mixed.
Repeat the process. This time after driving check the fluid level to make sure its full on the transmission dip stick when done.
Expected results is the first drain, the oil will look pretty dark and maybe smell a little burnt. The second batch of oil less dark and hopefully no burnt smell remaining.
